Hi Riaan >@2012.02.22_11:36:11_+0200
We have a few Etherlink services that have been running for a few months.
Our experience thus far:
a) Coverage is almost non existent. We get around 2 links for every 60+
that we order :P
b) The service itself is good. We're using the links for voice and have not
had any problems thus far.
c) Telkom doesn't know how to support the product at all, so expect issues
when reporting faults and/or when ordering :P
d) The CPE's are a mess if you build star topology as Telkom is not willing
to hand over a single connection for multiple links. You therefore end
up with a router per link (similar to NTU per Diginet circuit if you
don't do E1)
We know of other Telkom clients that have issues with their Etherlink lines,
but as we're not involved I can't comment on why they're experiencing issues.
Note, the service is not quite Diginet. It is uncontended and relatively
stable, but it is essentially SDSL, not a serial link, so you definitely get
more jitter than with Diginet.
