If so, please take a few minutes and help us bring a snapshot of the history of Internet in Africa to the world. The Idea A very informative, concise, engaging and visually appealing "piece" that shares the story of the Internet and of the Internet Society in Africa during the past twenty years. The final format is yet to be determined but one idea is compose the data in infographic form (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Information_graphics), but it will depend on the quantity and quality of content we can gather. This story will be showcased on the Internet Society’s website and is expected to get high visibility throughout the world. How to contribute? We cannot do this alone and ask our community to help share your stories and data in order for this idea to become a reality. What kind of information will help us tell an engaging and informative story? Here are some examples: * Facts to know about the Internet in Africa or ISOC in Africa* Example: ISOC Kenya was founded in 19xx and has xx chapter members * Leaders and pioneers in Africa and links or bios* Example: Dr. Nii Quaynor awarded the Postel Service Award in 2007 * Milestones of the Internet in Africa or ISOC in Africa* Example: In April 2005, ICANN recognized AfriNIC as the fifth Regional Internet Registry How and when? How: Submit your information and stories using this link: http://internetsociety.wufoo.com/forms/the-internet-in-africa/ When: Send in your submissions no later than *14 March 2012*. How will we decide what data to use? An African based steering committee, led by Pierre Dandjinou, honorary Chair of the Benin chapter, will review and help select the data to be used in the final piece.
