> Not bought "internet access" in south africa for a while have you :P
I don't think you need to be in South Africa: I have just incurred a
cost R 180 000 (and counting) in an NTP application attack on my
co-hosted server; this could have happened irrespective of the
location of the equipment. Which economic system, be it socialism,
communism or capitalism, would actually provide the essential risk
prevention catch net to stop the (to me, at least) criminl behavior
that caused this?
All access providers focus on generating revenues from a technology
they did not develop and, to the best of my knowledge was designed
with social, rather than financial benefits in mind. But when that
technology is used to hurt society or its individual members, no one
is there to deal with the fall out. Curious. Unless of course, you
are the movie or the music industry.
So forgive me if I despise each and every exploiter, commercial or
political, that dares raise their voice on this forum. You are
leeches, nothing more.
