We've built a DCN network for our optical backbone based on pfSense and 
FreeBSD with WireGuard, OSPF and BGP, across diverse DIA links in each 
data centre.

Works pretty good.

WireGuard is awesome! Can't imagine how we made IPSec work :-)...
