I know that the workings of OSAF remain opaque, and that there is work going on by OSAF staff that isn't well reflected in the mailing lists. In part because there is still a good deal of preliminary thinking, either not yet in written form or only crudely and incompletely written. In part because we're still figuring out how to communicate well about our design and development process, even as we try to figure out what that process is. Over the next few weeks I'll be talking with OSAF staff to make sure that we are communicating as much about our activities as we can. In the meantime, I'll start posting summary information about OSAF staff activities. These will start out as high level summaries; we'll look for a mechanism to make them more specific over time. These OSAF Updates will be posted in a new OSAF Status Reports section of the wiki, which will be linked from the "Interesting Places to Visit" section of the Chandler WikiHome page. You can find the first status report at http://wiki.osafoundation.org/bin/view/Main/OSAFStatusReports. These summaries will be very general and not highly technical. And the developers are so deep in working on a "critical mass" of useful code that they probably can't launch into deep discussions about the Updates I produce. But even so, the Updates should have useful general information, and I will try to find useful technical materials to include. Please let me know what you think.
