Beyond the title, there are a bunch of interesting tidbits to ruminate
in this article, one them close to the end:
"That the two major social networks don't interoperate could be reason
for a new social network that could act as an intermediary to aggregate

Sounds like a call for an IMAP standard of sorts for social
networking... Hmm...
