Maybe what this is leading to is a smart collection. A simple form of  
this would be an aggregator collection, which just contains all items  
in a given set of collections.

I have a use-case where this would be very useful. I'm managing the  
web calendar for my son Ronnie's school:
	http://schools.tdsb.on.ca/jackminer/calendar.htm

As a parent, I am only really interested in what happens to Ronnie's  
class, and not the other grade 7 and 8 classes. I am also interested  
in events that are not class-specific.

For teachers, being able to view "all grade 8's" is very useful.

So we have a collection for each class (8A, 8B, etc), and for general  
school events.

We create a smart-collection called "grade 8" which aggregates "8A",  
"8B", etc.

Then when I add an event to 8B, it would automatically be in the  
"grade 8" collection as well.

I create a "Ronnie's parent" collection, which aggregates "8B" and  
"School Events".

This same functionality is very appropriate for feeds from Twitter,  
Jaiku, RSS, etc.

... just a thought.
