It would be different experience, but we'd just need two menu items
instead of 2 x number of formats we support. In the import.../export...
case you'd just choose the file first, and get the import/export options
(if any)  after that. FWIW, this is the model of import/export I am used
to from other programs (Chandler is the only one that comes to mind that
has separate menu entries for different formats).
