This was working on the Mac at one point.  It looks like we haven't kept 
up with wx changes that changed the behavior from always highlighting to 
  allowing different fields to turn on/off highlighting.

I've filed http://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12228 to 
track the issue.
