We discussed this in IRC and Mimi proposed what I think is a clever 
approach:  Use RC1 as 1.0 (maybe RC1 plus one of the small safe bugs I 
mentioned before, Mimi is especially enamored of fixing the ugly Outlook 
issue) but when announcing 1.0 also spin something we'll call something 
like 1.0-Google and ask people to test it for us.

That satisfies my urge to let people enticed by the 1.0 announcement try 
CalDAV with Google, and makes it clear we haven't tested it as 
thoroughly as 1.0.
