For my general impressions on ApacheCon, you can see this blog post:

that I spent some time talking to some of the Abdera <http:// 
incubator.apache.org/abdera/> developers, and it looks like their  
AtomPub support is in pretty good shape, so we will be able to use  
Abdera to implement AtomPub/GData support if we want to.

Even though Cosmo is no longer using Apache Jackrabbit (It was when  
we proposed the talk), ApacheCon is still one of the best venues for  
us to rub shoulders with the kinds of folks who might eventually  
become Cosmo developers.   In fact several people who asked Brian  
good questions were Apache members, who generally have a propensity  
for getting involved in projects that interest them.
