The job would involve

1)Applying security patches and fixing compromised
servers
2)Upgrading Linux kernels & packages
3)Troubleshooting complex support issues
4)Automating manual processes
5)Research & Development tasks to build products &
tools
6)Documentation of system administrative task
7)Formulation & implementation of guidelines for
managing servers efficiently
8)Ability to interpret, maintain and create shell
scripts. 
9)Working knowledge of PHP / Perl / Python scripting
is a plus
10)Knowledge of Apache, Tomcat.
11)Knowledge of MRTG, Snort, Tripwire, Nagios, Nessus,
ntop 
12)Knowledge of providing support for Windows clients
would be an added advantage
