Sarge 3.1 DATAONE connection problem

HI, I can be connected with Fedora 4 using dataone. But in Debian Sarge I ran: #pppoeconf to setup. Then it will connect during a session.If i reboot and log in i need to run pppoeconf again After, I tried 'network-admin' GUI and configured eth0.but during configuration,this gui hangs! anyway if i activate eth0 by this way? and run #pon dsl-provider I got connected. Now Is any debian geeks there who configure dataone?please help me post ur config/experiance / $/$/uses mozilla-thunderbird version 1.0.2 (20050331) with gmail!/
