Yes.I have Ubuntu breezy and RHEL4 AS and M$ OS also.anoop alias i already
told i recovered grub.this is weird thing as the kernel is searching for non
existing partn for root while i edited /etc/fstab and corrected to / as
/dev/sda8 /boot as /dev/sda9.also grub menu.lst.since after this also kernel
panics..
this time i need to mention about my sarge; been a 'mixed' one as it is
updated manually to latest glibc and udev etc from unstable distro's
repository.since udev >0.76 needs hotplug to be removed i did the same and i
must confess i dont know anything about these packages..any way luckily i
have another kernel(default 2.6.8smp) through which i booted and
removed, reinstalled linux-image-2.6.14,,,smp and other dependent packages
afterwards i rebooted and entered 2.6.14smp..now its working
fine.onlythingis if u reinstall XP and partition number
changes.sarge with 2.6.14kernel fails..i doubt it may have to do with udev
package.will someone explain about udev configuration../files.Thank You All.
