This  is one  of  those  classic examples  of  an incomplete  question
eliciting no  responses -  what WM/DM do  you run? GHOME  (because you
mentioned somewhere that you run Ubuntu).

This sort of problem usually comes  up when you set up some program to
auto execute on log in.  Has that program been removed?
