Mplayer trouble.

Hi,

I was using mplayer with vo sdl before. Now I had to reinstall my
Ubuntu and so i recompiled mplayer. This time, it does not support
sdl. It says sdl failed to initialize. How do i enable support for
sdl. I need sdl basically to watch videos in full screen, else i get
only the original resolution.

I can watch videos, but with the X11 driver, i dont get full screen.

Also, my sound card can be accessed only by one program at a time
only. LIke, when i use xmms, the gaim sounds dont come. How can i
rectify that?
