Is there any problem with sata > hdd and ubuntu??please reply me if any solution regarding this > trouble. I have not had any problem with Ubuntu on an AMD64 system (MSI Neo m/b) which has NO IDE hard disks (except a DVD ROM writer). I am currently running Debian unstable on that system; and my answer may be wrong; so follow this at your ow risk. ;) I suspect this is a problem with the udev and/or hotplug packages. IIRC, only one of them should be installed at a time. Please do the following:- 1. Root into rescue / single user modes (there ought to be one in the grub menu) 2. run the command `apt-get -f install' ; this will fix problems with unconfigured packages, if any. 3. Say `apt-get install udev` 4. `dpkg --purge hotplug` Please get back to the list with the results. -- Mahesh T.
