Software Freedom Day 2006

100 Software Freedom Day CDs  have arrived in Cochin. The courier =20
company was charged 350 Rupees by the customs officials.

The representative of the courier company had called me yesterday with =20
this information. The representative also said they would try to get =20
back to the source of the CDs and request them to bear the additional =20
expense. I have not got any further feedback from them.

I have also mailed Matt Oquist from the SFD Team requesting him to =20
bear the additional expense.

Meanwhile I am looking forward to ideas/suggessions from the community =20
on how to go about with the 2006 SFD celebrations. SFD 2006 is on =20
September 16th and we don't have much time left, so I am awaiting a =20
speedy response from everyone.

Vimal, can we plan the a [one half] day awareness programme for H/w =20
assemblers that you had suggested some time back ?

I can from my side do a small demo on Samba(Time permitting).

Githin suggested that what we lacked last time was the publicity. =20
Maybe some of the seniors who have organised events of the magnitude =20
of RMS's visit to Cochin can offer some valuble advice.
