please give me some hints for these questions
Question # 1
a- What are the critical points of f?
b- On what intervals is f increasing and decreasing?
c- At what points, if any, does f assume local maximum and minimum values?

Let
f(x) = 5x x 1
ax + b , x>1
Find the values of a and b so that f is differentiable at x=1
