_*About PHDEB*_
Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Board (PHDEB - 
http://www.phdeb.org.pk), a federal department under Ministry of 
Commerce, Government of Pakistan, has been created keeping in view the 
enormous potential of Pakistan's horticulture products. In the absence 
of a single ministry or institution responsible for development at all 
levels of the horticulture value chain it was considered important to 
set-up PHDEB to uplift this sector, especially in light of the impact of 
globalization and WTO regime. PHDEB envisions the vitalization of a 
dynamic and market driven horticulture sector, which is resilient, 
sustainable and responsive to meet the challenges of globalization. The 
over all mandate of PHDEB is to promote, regulate, co-ordinate and 
enhance the export of horticulture products for the economic well being 
of all the stake holders in the horticulture value chain. PHDEB's main 
thrust is to introduce Pakistan to the international markets through 
strategic initiative efforts along with integrated interventions and 
facilitation in all the sub-sectors of the value chain.


_*Job Description*_
*Website Development & Maintenance:*
* Develop and update PHDEB website
* Database and web portal administration
* Online Content Management
* Testing of new website modules on local server
* Maintenance of PHP, MySQL and Apache based web portal
* Develop, upload & send e-newsletter by bulk email
* Maintenance of email server / system
* Installation, configuration and maintenance of Windows 2000/2003 
Server, Linux platform & different software applications
* Install, configure, maintenance and troubleshooting of server, 
workstations hardware and other networking devices
* Update the OS and application patches
*System Administration / IT Management:*
* Servers administration (Application, File, Exchange, Proxy, DNS/Bind, 
DHCP, VPN, DFS, NAT, SMTP & Samba Servers)
* Coordinate with regional offices regarding all IT issues, application 
development plans and regular follow-ups
* Coordinate IT procurement and future planning including annual budget
* Disaster recovery procedure implementation
* In-house client support for software applications and hardware
* Research on new hardware and software technologies


_*Requirements*_
This position is based in Lahore, Pakistan. The candidate must have a 
minimum of 2 yrs relevant work experience with a minimum of Bachelors 
degree in Computer Sciences from a reputable foreign or HEC recognized 
local college / university. Strong written and verbal communication 
skills, well-developed work ethics as a team member and practical 
approach are strongly desirable.
