What this blanket ban would do is block the URLs leading to known/listed
porn websites, which may/maynot keep growing. However will it be able to
stop bootleg ? "Side-loading" of content is a huge phenomenon in our
country.

And then what about the porn print material ? Won't kids (& grownups)
switch to those alternative sources of titillation ?

Then there is the media which swims on the borders... staying just-within
the right side of the law (mostly). Question being, who defines what is
porn, what is art and what is realty-show ? One of India's highest selling
tabloids pushes enough sleaze to get young minds interested... not sure,
how many noticed the growing boldness of the lingerie ads (ex: Peri-peri
ads!)

Sex education is also to blame. The petitioner believes that it helps

Sex education, is extremely important and ideally not be a copy-n-paste of
western form of sex-education, but take some local cultural sensitivities
into account. However, in the name of cultural sensitivities, showing 2
roses come together, serves no purpose. Recently, there was an article
about Engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu, (at least near Chennai)
prohibiting male/female students from speaking to each other, and if found
speaking (even in non-romantic manner), would be fined and punished.

There is a fine balance required between awareness, sensitization,
cultural-context, and best left to experts and professionals, instead of
babus whose mentality hasn't kept pace with the changing times.
