Dear Arun, This is a sad day indeed for india-gii list. Arun (and all), may I suggest that there a one week "time-out" and during this period, please look at the emails on two recent threads where both the times there has been very personal and abusive statements, including calling into question person's integrity. There had been "moderation" voiced in both the threads but to no apparent effect. Attacks continued from one thread to the next with innuendos, etc. that did not stop. Arun, India is a democratic country and under the previous and current PMs has turned from ideological socialism where anything associated with finance (read capitalism) is evil to a market driven economy where the current PM is actively seeking FDI with the "Make In India" and "Digital India" initiatives - both of them heavily impact "Telecom and Internet" because I had mentioned in one of the threads ICT is now very pervasive in all sectors - think of all the "smart" factories, transport, cities, payments, shopping, etc. etc. Arun, with 5G, there will be another big technology shift with mobile e-health, driverless cars, etc. etc. These will be important subjects to discuss and go well beyond today's telecom/Internet with most traffic generated by "machines" and not human beings. In this scenario, the last two threads showed a very disquieting level of abuse. I really felt very uneasy about the level of insults. Arun, I do not wish to get involved in the reasons for or against "suspension" of a person but some actions were needed and I would recommend that serious discussions are held by the *all *moderators (incl. ex-moderators) to define better what is needed to make this list a successful platform for reasoned debates. Arun, I do hope there is a "time-out" and this is used for cooler discussions. If necessary, we could discuss on this list but then Sarbajit has to be in the list so that he can defend himself or explain his motivations for such incredible levels of abuse - we all are citizens (or children) of India and we need to be in 21st century with proper realism of how the interconnected world operates. Arun, I suggest that there is re-instaements of resigned moderators PLUS apologies from the person who has insulted a lot of people on this list.
