All on-line companies (including search engines) collect browsing data, history, internet behaviour, etc. for "better experience" - the so called "big data" which is then processed through analytics to provide targeted marketing, etc. so I should not be surprised by what airtel and co are doing. As you remember, I had suggested that most of these data are "warehoused" outside India to avoid Indian laws concerning privacy. So what I suspect is that the data collected is warehoused by Israeli company. Again, without knowing the details, it is highly likely that all Airtel users have allowed it to collect data - so nothing unusual there. Neither is move vy Israeli co move to stop a hacker, however benevolent.
