EU law makes cookies explicit so before storing cookie on one's device,
explicit permission is needed.

Banibrata, you use gmail so you signed up to Google and its other services;
most likely you have f-book, twitter, you-tube etc. accounts; you browse
and use on-line shopping; etc.etc. and all these collect data and maybe
know more about you then you realise as they aggregate /analyse not only
your data but that of you friends, family etc.

bit pipe carriers are the least of the problems.

As i mentioned before, the law of land where data is warehoused applies and
so India can do very little as almost no data is warehoused in India. This
is the continuing battle between EU and USA.
