PVR Sig initial meeting and mailing list

First :

We now have a mailing list for the PVR-SIG : [email protected] . Only
subscribers can post to this list (others require moderation). It looks
like those who gave their email at the meeting are subscribed (and
should have received a few test messages by now).  The online form to
subscribe seems to be down currently so the easiest way to subscribe is
to email [email protected] with the message :=20

Future meeting summaries will go to the pvr-sig list

Second:

We had our initial meeting off the PVR-SIG this last Saturday Nov 15, we
had a great turn out and thanks to everyone for coming and thanks to
James Lancaster for the leading the meeting.

James went over the current PVR programs and how they work and demoed
several. We then made of list of what we wanted to do with our PVR and
James went over what capabilities various programs had to do what we
wanted.

James is going to put up some of his notes and links to the various
program on the ACLUG website.

John Alexander is going to compile a list of hardware and prices so we
can have them before the next meeting.

Our next meeting will be Saturday Jan 17, 2004 at the same time and
place. That meeting will be dedicated  We'll do another announcement
closer to the date and if anything changes.=20
