-----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Jonathan Hall Sent: Wednesday, June 26, 2002 8:41 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [aclug-L] [announce] 2nd Saturday Sale Info At the July 2nd Saturday Sale, ACLUG plans to operate a table for the purpose of allowing members to sell their computer-related goods. Anyone interested in selling their items, please read below! Anyone interested in buying things from the ACLUG table, please come to the sale on July 13. Any questions not answered here can be addressed to me at [email protected] Hopefully I've covered most of it here. Cost: ACLUG will charge $10 per member, plus 10% of the sale price on all items sold. This will cover our operational expenses. If any profits are made, they will go to the ACLUG general fund. Accepted items: Any _working_ computer hardware, _legal_ computer software (either opensource, or with complete license/documentation, etc), or books. Non-Linux books/software are fine, so long as they're legal. Deadline: Anyone wishing to participate must reply to this e-mail and pay the $10 table fee by Saturday, July 6. Payment: The $10 payment may be made by PayPal, by U.S. Mail, or you can drop payment off. Please e-mail for more details. Misc info: We will be accepting credit card (Visa and MasterCard) payments, checks, and cash. We will be charging sales tax on all sales. You will be responsible for bringing your items to the sale on Saturday, July 13, between 8:00 and 8:45am. You will also be responsible to pick up any unsold items after the sale (which ends at 3:00). Any items unclaimed after the sale will become property of ACLUG unless prior arrangements have been made. To participate, reply to this e-mail with the following information. Be sure to include an adaquate description of the items you are selling, including its condition (new, working, untested, dirty, etc), the quantity available, the minimum price you are willing to take for the item, as well as an asking (or sticker) price. Please note that 10% will be taken out _AFTER_ the sale. So if you want $5.00 for an item, your minimum price should not be less than $5.56, because the $0.56 will go to ACLUG. BE SURE TO TEST ANY HARDWARE BEFORE SELLING IT! We will _not_ be selling broken/dead/untested/semi-working hardware. All items you're selling must have a securely fastened price tag with your initials and the asking price on it prior to the start of the sale. We will review the lists of all hardware for sale before the sale, and let you know which hardware to actually bring. This is to prevent large numbers of duplicate items from multiple people, as well as to give priority to items which are most likely to sell. If anyone's list of list is rejected for any reason (perhaps b/c of an enormous response?), their $10 fee will be returned. Anyone who responds with a list of hardware for sale by July 6 should receive a reply from us by Thursday, July 11, to let them know which items to bring to the sale. To be included in the sale, respond with the following information: Name: Mailing address: Home phone number: Work phone number: E-Mail address: List of items for sale (Description, quantity, min price, asking price): -- This is the [email protected] list.
