I'm curious to ask what you mean by "Enterprise" vs. "Open Source". They aren't mutually exclusive concepts. They actually aren't really describing the same thing. For instance, JBoss, Tomcat, Geronimo, ActiveMQ, Solr etc. are all "Open Source Enterprise Solutions".
Now if you mean Oracle vs. Postgres, or Windows vs. Linux that is a different story. You know, stuff that enterprises like to embed and constrain their businesses into long term service contracts and proprietary license agreements vs. I can install this stuff on everybody's computer, modify the source and own it forever... I prefer the latter, always.
