Hey AJUGers how about working on a cool open source project?

inBloom www.inbloom.org is an independent nonprofit organization that
provides efficient and cost-effective means for school districts to give
teachers the information and tools necessary to strengthen their connection
with each student.

*The Project*
We have built a disruptive middleware platform for education using most of
the Spring stack (on JEE 6 right now but we will be on JEE 7 in two
weeks),REST, ActiveMQ, MongoDB, Maven and a bunch of Apache technologies.
All deployed on AWS. This technology enables widely varied educational
tools to work together so that teachers can more easily tailor education to
the needs, skill level and learning pace of each individual student. It can
also engage parents more deeply in their children's learning, and save
teachers time and schools money. In addition, inBloom offers a substantial
security upgrade to the common resources being used, including paper
records or disconnected and antiquated databases with few security
features. A good use case can be seen in this video

*How can you help?*
This is an open source project and we are looking for contributions to our
core platform, documentation or a good old critique of the dev site for
ease of use and relevance. Below are some important links
* https://dev.inbloom.org/join-open-source-project - developer site with
links to all code, content and documentation
* https://inbloom.org/for-developers/sandbox - to sign up for a developer
account
* https://github.com/inbloom  - source tree
* https://github.com/inbloom/secure-data-service - the heart of the platform
* https://github.com/inbloom/ldap_in_memory - used for local development

Why not get involved and contribute to a technology that is going to make a
difference in the world of education. Here is our Pubic Backlog on JIRA

Happy to discuss this with you so please reach out to me

cheers
