AJUG members- My name is Charles, and I live in Alpharetta/Duluth area. I'm re-learning Java, and have gotten to Servlets and JSP inmy studies. I last studied Java 15 years ago under release1.3. Since 2003, I've been infunctional roles, and was no longer hands on with programming. I now have the opportunity to move backtoward a technical role in the near future. I've been in IT for 32 years, and I'm 57 years old. I have Java JDK/JRE 1.8 installed along with Eclipse Mars onmy Windows 10 Lenovo ThinkPad. I've also installed Apache Tomcat 8.0.35 andhave it incorporated into Eclipse such that I can successfully stop and startthe Tomcat server from within Eclipse. I've created a "Hello World" servlet as per theinstructions in my book. I had tofigure out how to access the servlet-api.jar file using trial-and-error andsome google help (used a Java Build Path). I'm just not able to seem to get the servlet to run fromEclipse. Would you be able to reviewthe installation steps I've done so far, SEEKING: Anyone willing to meet on a tutoring arrangement for say $30per hour for 60 to 90 minutes. I'mlooking for someone willing to meet me to: 1) Review my setups 2) Helpme to get to where I can run this and other servlets My hope is to move on to a second book on JSPs and Servletssoon. Please answer to my Yahoo account listed below. I am willing to meet anyplace (a place likeStarbucks or Panera) that's convenientto anyone willing to assist me. I look forward to hearing from you.
