Hey Ajugglers,

I've got this project I've been working on for making tooling for
developing SNES games.  The tools are written in Java but they will
generate machine code for the various chips used on that platform.
Eventually I want to build up to having some nice UI plugins for one of the
major IDEs.  I was planning on using netbeans, but I'm not terribly excited
with how 9.0 is turning out.  Does anyone have opinions on extending
IntelliJ or Visual Studio Code?

What I'm writing will be a simple programming language to manage the SNES's
resources, some graphics and sound editing tools, and also tools for
working with assembly directly.  I've written IDE plugins for languages
before so don't worry about how technical you get, I can take it.
