I recall remarking many years ago after reading some of Isaac Azimov's essays that it was clear he had a high opinion of Issac Azimov. From his Science Fiction I had a fairly high opinion as well but thought it unseemly for him to be quite so obviously his own fan. That made me think of reading Robert Heinlein's essay about his visit to the Soviet Union. It seemed to me he must have been frothing at the mouth as he wrote part of it.
