Brand awareness is tested by a simple recall study. However, it's not  
a very useful measure in that it doesn't actually predict any long- or  
short-term value, such as sales or referrals.

Instead, a better measure is brand engagement. Some people like  
NetPromoter, but I don't think it captures the passion people have for
