Re: A few starter questions

Dr Noramn's book was very helpful in giving examples of design affordance, a
concept applicable to all design including software.  If you are already
familiar with and have good understanding of applying object affordance in
design, the book is not specific to software.  James J Gibson published about
design affordance and applied it in early WWII airplane conckpit design.

warning: after reading that really good book, pretty much everything
might well drive you crazy - doors, retail spaces, the checkout system
at the library, voting systems, hot water kettles, trash cans, let
alone software! and it is one of those 'what has been seen cannot be
unseen' sorts of things, i think it is a one-way trip to the terrible
burden of awareness.
