I believe I had to get that insurance when my company (S-corp) did some work for Stanford back in 2000. I can't remember which insurance company it was since it was a broker who found it for me but I do remember being unhappy about having to pay for it given how small the project was. I think it was either close to or over $1000 per year for the most basic of plans. We did not renew the policy after the year and my clients since then never have asked for it - but our work has mostly been advanced R&D and software development. Please do correct me if my numbers sound mistaken. For Serafine and others, I would be happy to share my current insurance broker who I am very happy with. Thanks!
