I co-chair SDForum's Startup SIG and am looking for 1-3 speakers on product/service design and usability for company founders. Logistics: Monday, Sept 21, 6:30-9pm, Menlo Park, on Marsh Rd near 101. (alternate date: Oct 19) Ideally the speaker(s) would cover the following issues, including examples of how the speakers have done these or advised on these in the past. Real world, practical advice is what we want (vs studies or latest theories). - How to design and optimize a website and/or mobile app - How to know whether to create a better design pattern or use what everyone else uses - How to create a customer communication strategy and tactics: email, text, twitter, blog, etc - What needs to be done before the site/company goes live, and what can be done afterwards - How to get things done quickly, cheaply, and "good enough", even if they aren't perfect The specific industries/verticals aren't important; our audience can extrapolate your advice to their own situations. Attendees represent all early phases of a startup, from "thinking about it" to several years in, and most are founders, not service providers. We typically have 35-40 attendees, often up to 70. If you're interested, please send your contact info and some info about yourself: a website, portfolio, write-up, bio, whatever, to provide a feel for your experience with successful startups. First-time presenters welcome; but we want experienced startup types! Thanks very much!
