But what if the information actually isn't on the site?  Does that  
count as "no scent" or "hint of scent"?  Just the expectation of the  
scent?

Looking for dates related to an association's conference. The calendar  
didn't have any relevant dates open to the public. The one page  
referring to the conference has only information about how to submit  
ideas for the pre-conference session, but nothing about the general  
meeting sessions. The name of the meeting chair has no email contact  
for him or any staff person. I tried looking for the prior years'  
conference dates to make an educated guess about this year's and with  
hopes that details of how to participate would be constant (mostly)  
from year to year.  That's when I found "404" complete with site map.

I fully expected to write to the staff person listed for "web content"  
and get a bounce.  Almost:  got a "vacation" message and no subsequent  
return email after a week.

Can we call this STINKY? or just BROKEN?
