Yes indeed, that is correct!

Similarly Ubuntu's Connection Information for Active Network Connections 
shows my default iiNet. That's on both PC and laptop. In both cases the 
IPv4 address information is local to the Budii.iiNet ADSL modem.

 From both computers I asked Wolfram Alpha's Web site what was my IP 
address. In both cases I got for IPv6 a long address beginning 
"0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:". Presumably that's similarly local to my 
ADSL modem.
