Hi Steve,

I had a look at it some years ago in a failed (or, maybe, ongoing)
attempt to get the (then) Jaycar Electronics XC4976 Networking A/V
adaptor working under Linux. That adaptor seems to be a USB hub
attached via Ethernet, with the display function implemented as a
USB-based DVI adaptor.

For others following, USBIP is a way to extend USB over a TCP/IP
connection to allow control of remote devices. Some details here:

The userspace tools are available (and with some usage help) here:
