*OMG Information Days*
Welcome to seminars on Model Driven Architecture (MDA). EOS and OMG co-operate on high-quality industry events for software developers and engineers in Scandinavia. The OMG Information days in August 2005 will focus on MDA in practise, with presentations from OMG and experienced users from the industry.

*Stockholm and Copenhagen*
The OMG seminars will take place in Stockholm August 17 and Copenhagen August 18. The day starts with breakfast followed by a keynote from an OMG expert. During the day there will be sessions with the latest news on MDA and MDA applied in real projects. There will be time to discuss MDA and do networking during lunch and at the reception late in the afternoon.

*MDA*
Model Driven Architecture (MDA) provides an open, vendor-neutral approach to the challenge of interoperability, building upon and leveraging the value of OMG’s established modelling standards: Unified Modelling Language (UML); Meta-Object Facility (MOF); and Common Warehouse Meta-model (CWM). Platform-independent Application descriptions built using these modelling standards can be realized using any major open or proprietary platform, including CORBA, Java, .NET, XMI/XML, and Web-based platforms.

MDA has already been applied to all kinds of business problems and integrated with a wide array of other common computing technologies. Because of its broad applicability, MDA itself is not packaged as a single standard like UML. Instead, MDA is more like an umbrella over a growing family of standards that now includes the UML V2.0, the Meta Object Facility (MOF), the Common Warehousing Model, and the Software Process Engineering Metamodel (SPEM), among others.

Therefore, depending on your needs, you can pick the standards you need for specific purposes, or you can use them all in an integrated way to streamline your software development in a very integrated way.

*Organizers*
Eastfork Object Space (EOS) is a Danish software company, founded in 1996. The aim of the company is primarily to promote knowledge of object oriented software development as well as increase the maturity in the software industry. EOS also does training in the fields of Java, .NET and object orientation. EOS organizes the annual JAOO conference on software engineering, methods and best practices.

Object Management Group (OMG) is an open membership, not-for-profit consortium that produces and maintains computer industry specifications for interoperable enterprise applications. Our membership includes virtually every large company in the computer industry, and hundreds of smaller ones. The flagship specification is the multi-platform Model Driven Architecture (MDA). It is based on the modelling specifications the MOF, the UML, XMI, and CWM. OMG's own middleware platform is CORBA, which includes the Interface Definition Language OMG IDL, and protocol IIOP.
