Welcome to JAOO 2005

Welcome to the 9th annual conference on Software Engineering, Methods and Best Practices. In 2005 the technology focus is on Java, J2EE and .NET. Focus of more abstract thinking and planning are on architecture, project management, patterns and agility.
The conference is building around 15 focus tracks - five each the three conference day, the remaining three days are tutorial days. Each focus track lasts one day and has a theme and a fixed structure starting with an introductory talk, then expository talks and at the end of the day there's a panel discussion. This is where the experts and you can challenge one another.
The JAOO 2005 tracks:
*Monday*: Service Oriented Computing, Improve Your Projects, J2EE, .NET Best Practices, Patterns - Past Present and Future.
*Tuesday*: Scripting And Dynamics, Test and Profiling Performance, Platforms for Embedded Software, Sixth Generation Language, Enterprise .NET Development.
*Wednesday*: Domain Specific Languages, Smart Client Development, Agility in Perspective, Scalable Computing, Java Five.
The tutorials for JAOO 2005
Sunday: Scripting, C# and Agile Development.
Thursday: JDO, Service Oriented Computing, Lean Software Development, Kick-Starting Scrum
Friday: Domain Driven Design, Eclipse, Web services

*Simon Phipps* is the Chief Technology Evangelist at Sun Microsystems, responsible for expounding and explaining the 'big picture' of connected computing solutions. In particular, his industry experience gives him unique insight into how open technologies like Unix, Java, XML and TCP/IP build together with newer ideas like wireless and Internet services to form the foundation for connected computing in the massively connected society of the 21st century.
*Ivar Jacobson* is the principal author of five influential and best-selling books. He has written more than 50 papers and he is a regular keynote speaker at large conferences around the world and act as an advisor to large corporations world-wide. He is one of the fathers of components and component architecture, use cases, modern business engineering, the Unified Modeling Language and the Rational Unified Process.
