The CUSAT mail server is now free and fast. Life for them have been very hard to manage with a server that goes down every other day and abou= t every one complaining about the sluggishness of the server. I think the University was a bit late to find out that their outlook to other institutions is a lot assesed by their web site. The technology institute has the slowest webserver in the flock, this itself would blow away a lot of their grants and impression. Here necessity has made them drink our water. Atleast for some time now things will look the open way. More than half of the universities computer run windows NT. This cant stand much longer. Soon University staff itself will come to realize that these OS's are abo= ut=3D to be a decade old and must go. Lack of money and security problems will tur= n =3D the=3D20 University to start spending money on upgrading to GNU/Linux. Its only a=3D= 20 matter of time. For some time now I have been trying to belive that people need not be=3D= 20 persuaded to change but the necessity for them to change will come=3D20 automatically. The only thing needed is patience and the success of firefox and openoffice have only added to this belif. Well people will learn about it when they require it. So help those who need it but dont persuade anyone. The feeling of freedom should come more from their minds and should flow like a river that starts from a stream of water into a la= rge river and finally into the sea. some things in this world are free --=3D20 _______________________________________________ Get your free email from http://www.hackermail.com Powered by Outblaze ---------------------------------------- | Free Software Users Group - CUSAT | | http://fsug-cusat.port5.com/ | ----------------------------------------
