Comcast, my ISP, so rarely changes the public IP addresses they assign to
the modems/people, I actually moved away from using a Dynamic DNS service,
instead using this combo:

I use my own registrar's DNS service (Register4Less.com) which is super
awesome in its functionality. There, I set the A record to my home IP (with
a TTL of 1 hour or so in case I have to change it).

For tracking of my home IP, I use OpenDNS's app that run's on my home
system (lightweight busted MacBook that is the only computer I run 24/7)
that update's OpenDNS's site with my public IP whenever it changes. If, for
some reason, I find that the A record no longer resolves, I can just login
to my OpenDNS account, check the new IP and update the record.

I don't have to use anything like mycoolsite.homeipservice.com or whatever
the DyDNS services use; instead I use my own domain.

Since my network hardware is on a UPS, Comcast has rarely switched up my
IP. Like, the last time they did was when I got a new modem. Or, in my
experience, when you unplug your modem for more than 24 hrs.

It's worked great.
