Further to my brainstorms,

In the next meeting I want to look into the possibility of hosting a few old 
machines as using them as foundations for testing all sorts of software, 
basically BLUG guinea pigs, who ever wants to contribute to the cost can have 
access to play as they please, as long as they document what tey find.
