I just built a good machine out of components from the Buynow center 
(smaller than Zhongguancun, but also closer to Beijing center).
Just choose the pieces you want and the guy will build it for you.
It took me a while before finding an helpful stall. Can give you the 
info if interested.
About good quality large CRT monitors, sounds like its pretty difficult 
to find them in Beijing now. I personaly gave up, but it's probably 
possible to find that... somewhere...
