Excuse me - but that IS NOT =anything= to do with SMTP protocol.

It is in fact a IETF recommendation to stop spam and viruses.

No - reverse DNS - no mail.

No reverse DNS - you are dodgy and do not know what you are doing and
are more likely to have a problem network/sever/business ethics.

It is a 100% fair and reasonable stance to take.
