O, you are right.  ;)  Maybe firefox is too smart. I tried 清华大学 in 
Mozilla and Opera(under Debian), both takes me to a site called 
http://www.menvip.com/ , which seems nothing to do with 清华大学. Why is 
this?

Then I tried 清华大学.cn in Mozilla, the location bar becomes 
http://xn--xkry9kk1bz66a.cn/ instantly and I see the homepage of 清华大 
学. In opera the location bar becomes http://清华大学.cn/ and it shows 
the homepage of 清华 too. :) Seems this domain is registered.

At least here, It's not IE only.
