Hi Michael,

Why I am receiving this message that I sent months ago? Something wrong with Blug-general mailing list?

the difference is that 3721 is not offering
a domain, it's a complete chinese word without domain name like .中国 etc.
Technically that's a big difference even though they use similar
tools.

wish this clarifies.

But, as you can see from http://www.cnnic.cn/html/Dir/2003/11/01/1142.htm .
Actually,
for now, the so called Chinese domain name is rather the same as 3721, you can
only use it under windows, to use it you must install a tool(acting just like
3721 toolbar?) from cnnic, which means the chinese domain name won't ring any
bells to all users who didn't install the tool.

3721 is different from Chinese domain name
registration.

What 3721 offers is the Chinese shortcut to your
web address, for example, if your web address is www.amy.com , then you can register
with 3721 a chinese name , and when you type in the browser's address bar (trick:
you must install 3721's tool bar to do this) http://, it automatically redirects to the http://www.amy.com .

Chinese domain name is another story, please
refer to the article in Igor's original email.

Yes, that so called chinese domain name is crap. Just an ie only
thing, using activex control within ie, nothing protocol related. It's just a
trick for that company(3721) to make more money.
