Because the topic there was COMMERCIAL activity. This topic was
Beijing. I could understand your contrived admonishment if I was
posting an article about the mating habits of oxen in Timbuktu.

Again. Look at the name of the list BLUG. B stands for Beijing if I am
not mistaken. I mentioned this in a meeting before - we have to play to
our strengths. Why be just another pure play? CLUG as Simon pointed
out was the Samba/Rsync LUG.

BLUG pretty obviously should be about Beijing + Linux.

Now, I am not a product of spoon fed education and nor do normal
cognitive processes in healthy active inquisitive minds become
constrained by "rules".

There is a big difference between a guideline and a requirement.

What you still fail to see, that a very good article on China,
technology, evolving habits and culture and the world at large was
presented. Only a Neanderthal in a cave, or a church establishment
worried about the fact that world is not flat, nor orbited by the sun,
would classify such an article as a problem.

If you are happy to allow your mental development to rest with the
status quo Fred, that is your business. However this is not push
technology here. The technology behind a URL link is one of "opt in".
And it would be a shame and an insult to require ALL information to be
"Spoon Fed" and then without choice of digestion or not.

A little author by the name or Emerson once penned:

"Character is higher than intellect. A great soul will be strong to live
as well as think."
