China standardizes on Linux!!!?

I just got this from a very reliable source:

The Chinese government will, starting next year, REQUIRE all operating
systems in China to conform to the GB21000 standards, which I'm sure
most of you know are LINUX standards(!) specified by Sun Wah System
Software on behalf of the Chinese govnerment!!!  This will effectively
block Microsoft and Apple from even doing business here, unless they
give up the OS and instead become an application layer on top of the
OS!!!!  I'm not sure if the standards require Linux or just
Linux-compatible API's, but either way it's going to be hard for anyone
to be 100% compatible!

This will really require the Linux desktop and Linux applications to
mature in a hurry!  Imagine the boost to Linux application development
companies!  I think only the Chinese government could really do such a
ballsy move.  My hat is off for them!!

Apparently security concerns, control, cost, and compatibility were the
main reasons for this high-level decision.  Sun Wah is also working on a
binary-only, closed-source kernel module (lib1apr.so) of unknown
function that the Chinese government will require all Linux OS's to run
with.

Anybody know anyone in Microsoft or Apple that could comment?
