By the way -- I am not an expert in Linux, and I'm quite aware that my post has nothing to do with Linux. But then -- as clearly acknowledged by Richard in the title of his post -- this article had nothing to do with Linux. I responded for one simple reason -- within the confines of the subject matter of this post, I felt that Richard was displaying a gross degree of ignorance on the subject of Chinese culture; that those comments were both inaccurate AND inappropriate in a forum like this; and that his subsequent self-justifications were spurious and without merit. If people want to remove this thread, no problem; I agree that it is entirely inappropriate for a forum such as this. On the other hand, if Richard wants "debate" on this subject -- as he claimed he did with Fred -- then that's exactly what I'm quite happy to give him. Personally, I think he'd be better to stick to Linux -- something he at least knows something about. _______________________________________________ blug-general list [email protected] http://list.beijinglug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/blug-general
